Any school can deliver student data to engage and support hundreds or thousands of students. But mastering it and making it clear, effective, and consistent? That may be another story!

For Blakes Crossing Christian College in South Australia, we talked with Courtney Bond, Director of Innovation and Integrated Education, on the school’s journey with TrackOne Studio, and how she drives it at the college to enable teachers and leaders to support student growth and teacher capacity. Read more about their success story!

1. Share a little bit about yourself and your experience in the education space, and your role at the school.

I’ve been working in education for over a decade, with a strong focus on inclusive practice, curriculum leadership, and using data to improve outcomes for students. I currently serve as the Director of Innovation and Integrated Education at Blakes Crossing Christian College, where I oversee a range of initiatives to support student growth and teacher capacity.

One of my key responsibilities is leading the TrackOne Studio platform across the school. This involves supporting teachers to use data effectively, ensuring assessments like PAT, NAPLAN, AGAT, and Brigance are translated into meaningful insights, and helping staff connect that information to daily practice in the classroom.

I see TrackOne Studio as more than just a data platform - it’s a way of building clarity, consistency, and confidence for teachers, while also enabling leaders to make evidence-based decisions.

In my role, I’m passionate about creating systems and structures that free teachers to focus on what matters most: engaging and supporting students. I enjoy working alongside staff to build their confidence with technology and digital platforms, so that it becomes a tool that empowers rather than overwhelms.

Ultimately, my goal is to ensure that every student is seen, supported, and given the opportunity to flourish.

2. What did your learning analytics process look like before implementing TrackOne Studio? What limitations did you face?

Before we implemented TrackOne Studio, we were jumping between multiple platforms. To compare data, we had to extract the information from each online management system and manually compare it through another program, such as Excel or PowerBI.

Whilst those external data sets are still maintained on separate online systems, I'm now able to extract that data, highlight the things that we want to see, and then import it quite easily through the bulk upload system into TrackOne Studio.

This is where all the different data outcomes can be easily viewed and compared, alongside internal markers such as academic outcomes, pastoral care alerts, and attendance information.

TrackOne Studio is the answer you need to reduce the extensive amount of time it takes to collate data from different spaces to draw connections.

3. What prompted your school to incorporate TrackOne Studio into your operations?

TrackOne Studio was introduced to us via our corporate body as a means for schools to have a greater understanding of their cohorts, and to ensure that decisions made at a college level were informed by data.

The connection between TrackOne Studio and Edumate makes understanding data in a holistic sense far more informative. The communication between the platforms allows us to create a picture to better understand student outcomes, areas of concern, and what the college needs to focus on to continuously improve.

4. How does your school use TrackOne Studio to deliver the outcomes needed for students to succeed?

We are still in the initial stages of rolling out TrackOne Studio to the college. My priority is to continue to provide the data through reporting to our leadership teams across the college.

As the leaders continue to engage with the platform, they begin to demonstrate this through practice with their teaching teams. Additionally, I deliver a monthly newsletter called the Diverse Learning Digest, which features growth outcomes and recommendations based on the data story we can create from TrackOne Studio.

5. What significant changes and results have you seen and experienced in your operations since implementation?

There have been several significant changes across the college. Through Edumate, I had been advocating for the use of the well-being and discipline register to expedite communications and reduce methods of double handling.

Now with TrackOne Studio, those communications created through said register are easily extracted and collated for a more informed and transparent outcome. Additionally, we have been able to investigate trends regarding students and identifying peak times across a year where they may be having difficulties. This therefore allows up to ensure supports are provided at those key times.

6. How has support from the team been? Are there any key stories or team you would like to mention?

Ryan has been incredibly helpful right from the start of our journey. He is always open to questions and feedback and doesn't shy away from doing further investigation if an idea is something he feels would be of benefit.

I also personally appreciate the recognition he has given to the progress that I have made with our investment in TrackOne Studio at the college.

7. What advice would you give to other schools considering TrackOne Studio?

TrackOne Studio is the answer you need to reduce the extensive amount of time it takes to collate data from different spaces to draw connections.

The continued live update of internal school data allows for on-the-spot information to be provided when needed. Visuals like graphs allow for easier understanding of data outcomes and helps staff to monitor progression and areas of concern.
